Little Taotie Yun Tao wakes up one day to find his powers out of whack. He’s stuck in his cub form, saddled with a weak and frail earth god as his guardian, and so broke he can’t even afford a decent meal.

 

Luckily, he stumbled upon a half-broken system that lets him summon legendary figures from The Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing) to help start a business.

 

On his first draw, Yun Tao pulls a UR-tier rebellious employee—the notorious Tai Sui.

 

Tai Sui glares. “Brat, what the hell did you summon me for?”

 

“To work at my restaurant,” Yun Tao replies in his sweetest, most innocent voice.

 

Tai Sui sneers. “Not happening.”

 

Yun Tao grins, flashing sharp little fangs as the shadow of a gluttonous beast looms behind him. “Then I’ll have to change your role… to ingredient.”

 

Tai Sui: “Boss! I’d be honored to work here! ^_^”

 

Soon, Blessed Carp Sashimi becomes the hottest new health food, Worry-Free Scallion Oil Noodles is a favorite among overworked office workers, and Taotie Delicacies draws crowds from far and wide—breathing life into the once-forgotten shopping street.

 

Not long after, Fei Fei’s Bakery, The Nine-Tailed Fox Flower Shop, Shan Hai Farm… one after another, more mystical stores pop up.

 

Business is booming, and Yun Tao can finally eat his fill. The only downside? As a rare and fluffy little glutton cub, he’s in constant danger of being cuddled bald by his overly enthusiastic employees.

    A simple premise: world ended, how to fix it? Yet even with a simple idea, one can find a lot of heart in a story like this.The story has a good amount of world building to kick off the plot without raising too many questions. And even when questions come up, it feels like they’re addressed swiftly while still making it feel like there’s more to discover later on.Writing is polished and clean, a welcome surprise given how often the story is updated (sometimes multiples chapters a day!).I can’t get enough of the character interactions. They’re fun, heartfelt, and even at their silliest moments, it feels like most interactions carry tidbits of hidden meaning if one wants to ponder further upon the themes and messages behind lines. Or you can take it at face value and also enjoy simplicity. There’s something for everyone.Highly recommend giving this story a try. Hoping to see more people become crab enjoyers.

    after weeks the leader of the bandits with rest of his men "it's time to use that kid" one of the bandits spoke "are you sure what if he tells the ones were gonna attack" the leader says that's why we're gonna start small if he does his job right we can then start on larger attacks" unrolling a map pointing a spot at the map "here.. we got some information from the storm cloaks that there in a couple of days there will be an imperials escorting a noble coming through if the kid was able to prove himself tommorow we can add him to the plan. some bandits nodded some didn't care while others were doubtful of attacking a noble they continued on making plans for the night.

    Between the intermediate sobs lay suppressed murmurings, there were shifting of glances towards the boy, who sat innocuously at the corner of the room, unabated by his surroundings. Occasionally, he scanned the room for abnormality, before returning to his established state of trance. He did not seem deeply engaged in thought, neither was he distracted by the sudden outburst of grief performed by the deceased's parents.
